Preschool
Welcome to SEAS Preschool and Pre-K!!
Hello and welcome to our Preschool page! I am so excited to enter my 5th year of teaching here at SEAS and am thrilled to be a part of your child's journey this year! Please reference this page often, as I update it monthly with a brief outline of what we will be learning this month, as well as other important dates/information. Our morning teacher aide is Robin McKee, and our PM teacher aide is Sarah DeGroot.
Please make sure to send any school supplies/student information sheets with your student on their first day if you havent already! One of the folders that you brought will be their take home folder. We highly suggest just keeping the folder in their backpack and checking it often. There were a couple families who didn't pick up the papers in their child's cubby at open house and those will be sent home in their take home folders on their first day.The Seesaw code that was sent home at open house has been deactivated since I sent home the wrong ones. The new codes will be sent home on the first day of school as well. We use the Seesaw app to share pictures of all the fun activities we are doing throughout the day, so you will want to make sure you download the app!
Please note: The primary way I will be communicating important information is through email and here on our class page. Please make sure to check both regularly (atleast once or twice a month) to stay up-to-date!
Drop Off Information
If you haven't already, please review the email Mrs. Cantrell sent regarding the Preschool/Prek drop off routine-especially if you havent had a morning preschool student in the last year. Morning students MWF AND T/TH will now be dropped off at theChurch Bell Tower! If you are walking them in, please park in the church parking lot. After Labor Day, if you still feel the need to walk them in, you will need to sign in at the office and get a visitor pass.
Students who arrive before 7:40 a.m. will be escorted by one of the aides or student ambassadors to the library to wait with their peers. Our classroom will be locked until 7:40 a.m. and then I will greet them at the door. If they arrive after 7:40 they will wait with the aide at the drop-off location until 7:50 a.m., then will be escorted to the classroom. Anyone who arrives after 7:50 a.m. will need to park, walk them in, and check in through the office.
Afternoon Pre-k: Drop off is at the backdoors leading out to the big playground right infornt of the rectory. Please make sure to be cautious when pulling through
Morning Pick-Up:A small handout will be sent home regarding pick-up procedures for the morning class on funeral days. Our AM class gets out at the same time as funerals do, and as you can imagine, it is uncomfortable for everyone. On those days, you can typically tell based on how full the parking lot is or if there is a limo in front of the church, pick-up will be at the flagpole. I will send Mrs. McKee over to the bell tower to direct anyone who may have forgotten. If I know ahead of time, I will send out an email letting everyone know.
Other Important Information:
-
The 1st days of school will be August 17th-20th. We stagger start the kids so please reach out to either me or Mrs. Cantrell to find out what 1st day your child will be attending or if you have any other questions. We do allow parents to walk their students in on the first day, but after that we prefer parents drop off at the door with the aide.
-
Starting the first week, I will be sending your child's "to and from home" folder that they will keep in their back pack to bring to school everyday.
-
Please keep a change of clothes in a gallon baggie in your child's backpack. We cannot assist with bathroom hygiene. Please practice at home. In an emergency, parents may be called to assist.
