April News!

Hello! I can't believe April is already here! We had our Easter Egg Hunt on Tuesday! The Sedgwick County Zoo will also be visiting us the last week of April, and a permission slip has been sent home. Please make sure to send in your money as they are requiring everyone to pay ahead of time this year.

If anyone is going to request for us write a special message in a book for your kiddo, ex) Oh the Places You'll Go or The Wonderful Things You Will Be, please send it in early to give us time to write in them. We love the idea and we want to write something meaningful, so please give us some time to do so! Thanks!

If you have any group pictures (whole group or small group) of the kids from any class parties, Thanksgiving parade, etc. please email them to me! I want to make memory books for the kids and I don't have very many group pictures from those events! Thank you so much for your help!

Miss Roberts will be available this summer for tutoring. Please reach out if you are interested or have any questions! :)

How you can help at home:

  • I highly encourage working on both fine motor and gross motor skills at home. There are hundreds of ways they can work on these skills while playing. Pinterest and even TikTok are fast and easy places to find ideas!
  • When singing the alphabet, I encourage you to sing it to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb. We sing it this way because it helps the students slow down and ensures they are saying each letter. Especially letters L, M, N, O, P, that typically get skipped when singing it the traditional way.
  • Using the name zero when referring to number 0. Many of them are having trouble differentiating letter O and zero. I especially see this when we are working on birthdays, addresses and phone numbers.
  • Prek- we are really working on recognizing and saying the letters in our names. (capital first letter, then lowercase)

Thank you for everything you do for your child and their learning! You are so valuable!
