The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children (RCIA/RCIC) is a process through which men, women, and children are initiated into the Catholic Church. This is a process involving discernment and stages of conversion, which leads to sacramental initiation. It is the parish community, through its witness, worship, service, and catechesis that offers the invitation and support necessary for this initiation. The process is open to all persons seeking to join the Catholic Church or wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith. There are also numerous roles to be filled by Catholics who wish to share their love of Christ and His Church through service to others.
